It’s been over a month since sketching for this Symposium and I’m still talking about it to anyone who will listen. These women seriously blew my assumptions about money and work and ownership out of the water.
Collective, community-based banks and home-grown economies seem a bit radical, but women have been doing this “for longer than people have been talking about it.” I’m hoping that the sketchnotes here speak for themselves. AND if you want to know more about the DISA Collective, ROSCAs, Banker Ladies Council, and other formal and informal sharing economies check out the Africana Economics, The Banker Ladies, and Co-ops in Canada.
